- Any additional time on campus will be calculated at $840 per month for room and board or $210 per week. If a student does not learn the Transcendental Meditation program before arriving on campus from a qualified instructor (who submits an Application Supplement approved by the MSCS Office of Admissions verifying the student’s participation), the student will be charged an additional $210 fee for instruction in the Transcendental Meditation technique at Maharishi International University. This $210 fee will be added to their Student Account balance to be paid once the student starts a CPT position.
- Withdrawals Withdrawal Fee for Students Enrolled Beginning April 2018 Students who withdraw or are dismissed from the Program will be responsible for Program Costs incurred to the date of withdrawal as follows:
- The minimum withdrawal charge is $2500
- 0-2 weeks withdrawal fee is $2500 which covers all expenses for the first two weeks but is also charged even if the student does not register or attend any classes at MIU.
- Tuition for more than 2 weeks on campus is $3000 per 4-unit course.
- Housing/Meals for more than 2 weeks on campus is $840 per month.
- Fees: $365 from 6 weeks to five months, $730 for more than 5 months.
- TM tuition is $210.
- Health insurance charges of $166 per month or a portion thereof. As of January 1, 2025, the cost of health insurance is $166/month per person covered. The cost of insurance changes annually on August 1 each year. By July 1, the cost of insurance for the next year is known (contact comprohealth@miu.edu for that information).
Students who withdraw from the program after starting courses totaling more than 34 units will not receive any reduction in program costs. The number of units charged includes practicum units. If a student begins practicum, then this is treated as one course worth 4 units.
In the event that the student signed for a bank loan and a balance on the loan is outstanding at the time of withdrawal from the Program, then MIIU will be required to pay the remaining bank loan amount and those charges are then added to the student accounts charges. Any applicable tuition refund will be applied against the student’s outstanding charges. If there is any remaining balance due, then the student would be required to pay that directly to MIU. If the student does not make adequate, monthly payments to MIU, then these charges will be sent to a Collection agent. If there is a refund due, then MIU will send a check to the student.
- Living Costs and Tax Responsibilities The student will be responsible for all costs associated with off-campus practicum employment, including housing, food, utilities, telephone, travel, transportation, medical costs (exceeding those medical costs directly covered by the University’s health insurance), and all other living and personal expenses. Students enrolled in the Program may have tax liabilities for cash advances, on-campus housing and meals, and all other University-provided awards and benefits. Students will assume responsibility for payment of all taxes assessed according to federal and state tax laws.
- Health Insurance F-1 visa holders studying in the U.S. are required to have health insurance. To assist F-1 students attending the MSCS program at MIU, students have the option of purchasing their own health insurance or enrolling in a health insurance plan coordinated by MIU.
The health insurance plan coordinated by MIU is offered by a U.S. insurance company. The insurance company is independent of MIU. MIU can assist the student with understanding how health insurance works and offer a maximum of 18 months of coordinating your enrollment and payments for the health insurance.
